Alphabet Phonic Blocks for Preschoolers and Toddlers
Teach preschoolers and toddlers words, ABCs, and phonics with this simple alphabet phonic building blocks activity.
Phonics
Oh, don’t you just love the English language? I don’t. It was always super confusing to me growing up. My hardest subject in school was English. I still can’t spell well, or speak well, OR write that well today! (Who knows why I have a blog! :).
It’s also ironic that the word Phonics is pronounced with an “F”!
Well, to help your preschoolers out, you can do a fun phonic blocks activity.
My son and I did this together and he loved it. He is really into gluing things right now, so it was his jam. It also helped me get a grasp on what words and sounds he was still struggling with. Some of the letters he matched right away, while others took some time and guessing.
The best way to do this activity is to prepare the blocks beforehand and cut them out. Unless you want your little one to practice cutting, but it would probably take a lot longer. You could also just have them cut out a few. Plus, if you do already have them cut out, then you can shuffle them.
Here’s how we did it.

You can cut out the pictures a head of time and just have your preschooler do the gluing.
(The X letter has a few pictures that have will have the X sound at the end).
Phonic building blocks is a fun way to teach your preschooler about letters, and it works on so many other skills. It gets them a great start to kindergarten if you work on letters with them.
