Easy and Cute Stackable Paper Turtle Craft for Kids
Create a cute and fun paper turtle craft with your kids. I have the template and all you need is some paper, glue, and scissors!
Paper Turtle
I love turtles! I don’t know why, but I have always thought they were cute. I wanted to create a more 3D craft of some type of animal, and I saw an idea like this that I thought would make a cute turtle. This craft could also be great to make with a toddler OR for a toddler to play with. It’s a fun stackable turtle that you can play with over and over again.
I kept mine out for display for a week because I thought it looked so cute.
You can make the paper turtle with different colored paper or you can color the template with crayons or markers. If you use colored paper, I recommend cardstock for the base, but construction paper or something a little more flimsy for the circles so it’s easier to bend.
You could also get SUPER creative with this craft and make a shell design on the turtle or even the stackable strips of paper.
Here’s how we did it.

Stackable Paper Turtle Craft
Supplies:
Turtle Template
Colored Paper (I used cardstock for the base and colored copy paper for the shell)
Coloring Utensils (Optional, if you aren’t using colored paper)
Scissors
Glue
Sharpie
Instructions:
First print out your template and cut out the pieces. You can either color your template, or use them as an outline to cut it out on colored paper. (That’s what we did)
Bend your turtle head up so that it stays standing. Draw a face with the sharpie, however you’d like.
First take the longest strip of paper, which will be the base of the stack, and cut about a 1/4 of an inch of ruffles across the bottom. (like pictured)
Glue the two ends together.
Then fold the ruffled part to the inside of the circle.
Glue the bottom part of the ruffle onto the base of the turtle, so that it stays.
Next, take the second longest strip of paper and glue the two ends together. Stack it inside the base paper.
Last, take the last strip of paper and glue the two ends together. Stack it inside the middle paper.
Now you have a stackable turtle. You could do as many stacks as you’d like if you’re feeling creative!
Isn’t he so cute?!
