Halloween Treats and Snacks
I have been getting ALL into the Halloween spirit this year. I’ve been making Halloween snacks, decorating for Halloween in September, and we all already have our costumes. I have NEVER been this on top of it. We are usually running around like chickens the night before Halloween trying to throw together all matching costumes. I don’t recommend that for anybody.
This year, I decided to get all into it and start making Halloween snacks. When it comes to kids, it really is just the simple things that make them so happy. Right now it’s snacks that look like spiders. As they get older, it’ll be something else, but most of the time, it’s something simple. They want to know that you’re thinking about them, love them, and do simple things for them.
The first time I made the spider snack, my son was in SHOCK. He was so impressed with my skills, haha. Now my kids ask every day “What Halloween snack they will be having today?” It’s been fun.
I wanted to share the snacks I’ve been using and seeing with you. There are a ton of ideas out there, but these are the simplest ones! They take very little effort to do, and probably can be made with what you already have at home. They are STUPID simple. You will have NO problem doing these and impressing your kiddos!

20 Stupid Simple and Easy Halloween Treats and Snacks
We’ll start with the savory, or mostly savory snacks. They’re more snacks than treats.
Savory and Easy Halloween Snacks for Kids
Cheese Stick Ghost
I think this one might be the simplest one. All you’ve gots to do is color a face on some string cheese. If your kids love string cheese, this is a must. The next time you give it to them, surprise them with a face. I know it sounds too simple, but, trust me, it’s not!
Monster Mouth
Create a monster mouth with an apple and peanuts. I decided to add “cavities” with some chocolate chips. That got my kids all excited!
PB&J Sandwiches
You are probably already making PB&J sandwiches, just spruce them up a little bit and turn them into PB&J spiders.
Marshmallow Ghosts
Make these cute fruit kabobs by One Simple Party, but freshen them up with some marshmallow ghosts. All you need is some fruit, marshmallows, and a decorating (edible) pen.
Banana Ghosts and Orange Pumpkins
These are also super simple and take about 2 seconds to put together. Just add some chocolate chips to a banana and a piece of celery to an orange. Find the full recipe at One Little Project. They are just too cute and easy.
Cheese and Pretzel Broomsticks
Make these super simple pretzel broomsticks. We made these for our Harry Potter party, and they were a hit. Super simple, and somewhat healthy.
Spider Crackers
I made these for my kids the other day and my son just couldn’t stop staring at it with his mouth open. He was in shock. He was just so impressed with my spider making skills. They did turn out pretty good.
Carrot Pumpkins
If your kids haven’t been eating their veggies, then this a good time to pull out the good ole pumpkin carrots. Just simply shape your carrots like pumpkins. They will HAVE to eat them.
Halloween Popcorn Hands
These are so cute. I think they would be great to do for a movie night or Halloween party. Buy some plastic gloves, add the candy corn and popcorn, and there you have it.
Mummy Apple Sauce
This one is great to put in your kid’s lunch box. Wrap an apple sauce packet with tissue paper or crepe paper and draw some eyes on it. Now you have an apple sauce mummy.
Mummy Hotdogs
Probably one of the most common Halloween snacks, but they are super easy and cute. Make pigs in a blanket like usual, but wrap them with crescent rolls strips that are super thin to make a mummy!
Jack-o-lantern Cheese Quesadilla
Make an easy quesadilla, but cut it out in the shape of a pumpkin. This could be a snack or even lunch or dinner. What? You’ve stepped up your game already!
Sweet and Easy Halloween Treats for Kids
Pretzel and Chocolate Broomsticks
These are the non-healthy version broomsticks. Use mini peanut butter cups instead of cheese.
Lollipop Ghosts
Wrap those cheap tootsie roll pop lollipops in coffee filters. They make a cute ghost and take about 3 seconds to put together. You can find the full instructions at Happiness is Homemade.
Spooky Spider Cookies
This one takes a little more effort, BUT it is great if you are already making cookies. Buy some mini Reese’s and just add them to your cookies with some little legs. You can buy a tube of frosting for a few bucks that is super small, which would work perfect to draw some little legs.
Dirt Cups
Make the classic dessert cups with pudding, Oreo cookies, and gummy worms. Looks like you’re eating bugs in dirt. Get the full recipe here.
Witch and Wizard hats
Make some witch and wizard hats with a cookie, a Hershey’s kiss, and a touch of frosting. Get the easy recipe here.
Monster Pancakes
Make these simple AND HEALTHY monster pancakes for breakfast. Your kids will be very impressed. Unless you always make monster pancakes, then maybe not so much. (I couldn’t decide if these should go under savory or treat!) This one takes a little bit to prepare, but everyone loves pancakes every now and again. Find the full recipe at Freutcake. If you want to buy the monster eyes, you can find them on Amazon, or at the store in the baking isle.
Cookie Critters
Chips Ahoy has a great recipe for Cookie Critters that are super easy. Just add frosting and some eyes, and you got a creepy critter.
Write on Foods
You could literally write on anything that is in a clear plastic container or some type of covering to make it Halloween-ee. Here are five different great ideas. Here is a list of what I’ve seen or done:
- Clementine’s- Make a pumpkin face
- Jell-O- Depending on the color, you can do a lot. I’ve seen the Hulk for green Jell-O.
- Pudding
- An apple, with a edible marker
- Put something orange in a baggie (like Cheetos) and make a Jack-o-lantern face on the baggie.
