Easy Paper Plate Leprechaun Craft for St. Patrick’s Day (with free printable)
Create a fun St. Patrick’s Day craft with your kids with this easy paper plate leprechaun.
St. Patrick’s Day
My daughter LOVES St. Patrick’s day. I never really celebrated it growing up, so I was never super excited about it, but she LOVES it. I think it’s because we went to a parade one year, and she remembers it, so she has created a positive association with St. Patrick’s Day.
The only thing I remember is making sure I wore green on St. Patrick’s Day or I would be pinched. It was fun running away from the boys at recess. ;).
There are a few ways you can celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and one way is to do a fun craft. Leprechaun’s are Irish and associated with St. Patty’s day, so we decided to make a paper plate leprechaun craft.
Here’s how we did it.
Easy Paper Plate Leprechaun Craft
Supplies:
St. Patrick’s Day Leprechaun Craft Template
Googly Eyes (optional, you could draw them on)
Paper plate
Crayons, markers, or colored pencils, or you could even do paint
Glue
Scissors
Instructions:
Print out the template.
Color the template as you desire.
Cut out the template and glue the hat on top of the paper plate. You can add the clover to any part of the Leprechaun, I chose to add it to the hat.
Glue on the googly eyes.
Color the beard on along the side of the paper plate where it ripples.
Color on the mouth and mustache.
Alternatives:
There are a few variations that you can do to this craft to make it more interesting and make it your own.
- Instead of using googly eyes, cut out eye holes so you can wear it like a mask.
- Cut out a mouth hole instead of drawing one, and use it as a better mask.
- Add a string to the back to officially turn it into a mask.
- Add the clover to the side of the hat.
- Add it to the end of your rainbow! 🙂
I hope you have as much fun as we did make this paper plate leprechaun.
