Create an easy Thanksgiving craft this year that your kids love with this FREE turkey headband template. Let’s jump right into getting you your free printable template and showing you how to make it.

Why This Turkey Headband Cut Out Craft Is Great

It really is the simple things. We made these turkey headbands the other day and my kids ran around like turkeys all day with their turkey “hats”. They also lost them every 5 minutes, so we were also looking for them all day, haha typical. I would expect nothing less. But I’m glad they had fun.

This is also a great activity to have on Thanksgiving day before dinner to keep the kiddos entertained. It’s a simple craft with very little supplies. All you need is the template, something to color with, glue, and scissors. Your kids might even be able to do it themselves. I did this with my 4 year-old and 7 year-old and they both loved it. Here’s how we did it.

How to Make a Turkey Headband Using a FREE Printable Template

Here are the step-by-step instructions for creating a turkey headband using the free printable template provided below.

Supplies

  • Turkey Headband Template
  • Coloring Utensils (markers, crayons, colored pencils)
  • Scissors
  • Glue (here are the glue sticks I love because not all are created equal. This is a great price especially if you do crafts all the time.)
  • Construction Paper (optional)

Instructions

Color the turkey, feathers, and headband. Coloring the headband is optional. Color it if you don’t want it to be white. You could also use construction paper if that’s easier.

Cut out the turkey, feathers, and headband. You may not need all the strips of the headband. I just included more strips in case your child has a big head (jk). I used 2 strips and it fit my kid’s heads fine.

Glue the headband together to make a circle.

Glue the feathers onto the headband first in whatever fashion you’d like.
