Halloween Treats
I know I’ve said this before, but simple is awesome and kids love awesome. I decided to put a little pep in my step when it came to doing Halloween this year. I don’t LOVE Halloween, but my daughter does. I wanted to try and spice things up a little bit, so I decided to do some simple Halloween snacks. I thought they would like them, but I didn’t know they would LOVE them.
I started with these simple Halloween monster mouth apple treats because they were so easy. We often have apples as a snack and my kids love peanut butter, so I couldn’t go wrong. My daughter, who generally only eats half the apples, was scarfing them down like they were candy. I couldn’t make them fast enough for them to eat. I guess it helped that these are made with some chocolate.
(This Halloween goodie is just the first of many that we have done, if you want even more Halloween treat and snack ideas, check out this post.)
Here is how we did it.
Halloween Monster Mouth Apple Treat
Ingredients:
Apple
Peanut Butter
Peanuts
Chocolate Chips (optional)
Instructions for Halloween Monster Mouth:
Start by cutting the apple into a mouth shape. I just sliced up my apple, and then cut out a little V shape in the center to resemble a mouth.
Lather the inside of the mouth with some peanut butter.
Take some peanuts and poke them into the mouth that you created like they are teeth.
If you want to add chocolate, use the chocolate chips as some of the teeth for the “cavities”.
My daughter wanted her monster mouth to have A LOT of cavities. haha.
Now enjoy! That’s it! They are super simple, but super tasty, cute, and healthy (mostly).
Update: Monster Mouths
So I did this snack again, but for a Halloween party, and they came out much cuter. You can buy the little edible eye balls, and add sliced strawberries for a tongue if you wanted to get more into it!
Happy Halloween!
