Four Leaf Clovers
Have you ever found a four leaf clover? I feel like I found one when I was little, but I could have just been making that up in my head! If you need a busy activity, just tell your kids to go find a four leaf clover in the backyard. That should keep them occupied for a while! 🙂 JK.
I really like the look of marble and I had seen it done before with other crafts, so I thought it would look cool on a four leaf clover and in honor of St. Patrick’s day.
This craft is super easy, but it can be messy, so be prepared for that, but the kids will have a blast with it. If you use washable paint, you should have a fairly easy clean up!
This is how we did it.
Marbled Four Leaf Clover CraftÂ
Supplies:
- Shaving Cream (it can be cheap)
- Paint (any kind you have on hand, washable is probably best)
- Toothpick, or Q-tip, or something with a small tip that can get in the paint
- Paper Plate (or something that can get paint on it and be thrown away)
- Four Leaf Clover template (download below)
Instructions:Â
To prepare, cut out your four leaf clovers from the template. You can color them first, or you can use them as a template to cut out onto green paper. Or you can just have them be white and let the marble make the color!
First, get your paint ready by putting a small mound of shaving cream onto your paper plate. Mix it around. (There is no exact science to this)
Add in your paint, whatever colors you choose. We did yellow, green, and white. Drizzle them on top of the shaving cream. You want lines, not splotches.
Next, with your toothpick (or other object), swirl the colors around. (Again, no exact science)
Last, plop your four leaf clover right on top and give it a gentle push.
Lift up the clover and press it onto another paper plate or piece of paper to get off all the excess.
Lay out to dry. (This does take a little longer to dry because of the shaving cream. To speed it up, lay it out in the sun).
Repeat as desired!
You can repeat this with any design. You could make planets by cutting out circles, etc…
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
