Valentine’s Day for Kids
I don’t know about you, but I find it hard to come up with gifts for my kids on Valentine’s Day. I know chocolate is always an option, but sometimes I want to give them something different. I’ve been trying to think of a good traditional gift to give them for Valentine’s Day. Something that they will come to expect and look forward to every Valentine’s Day.
I’d like to get on my soap box if I may *hem*. I hate that Valentine’s Day is super geared toward two people madly in love. I think that Valentine’s Day should be a general overall LOVE day. Now, I’m not saying that it’s wrong for those two people to celebrate their love on Valentine’s Day, but let’s include all the different ways we love like sisters, friends, parents, sons, daughters, etc… I want all the people I love to feel loved on Valentine’s Day. I don’t think anyone should be sad on Valentine’s Day because everyone has someone who loves them!
Okay, the soap box is done!
So, I want to teach to my kids that Valentine’s day is a universal love day! Also, flowers are WAYYYY too expensive on Valentine’s Day. (ok, I’m really done).
If you need some awesome ideas for gifts for your kids, I did some research on some awesome gifts that I would give my kids that I think really correlates with Valentine’s Day. I hope you have a FANTASTIC Valentine’s day with your loved ones!

13 Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas for Kids
Let’s get the obvious ones out of the way first.
Chocolate
I had to include chocolate, even though it’s an obvious one. I do believe in eating chocolate on Valentine’s Day! (well, really any day) But they have some clever ways of giving chocolate like character Valentines or chocolate lollipops.
Candy
The second runner-up on Valentine’s Day is candy, which is also an obvious one, but can be a clever one with these awesome candy sayings.
Stuffed Animal
And the bronze goes to…stuffed animals. Some kids LOVE stuffed animals, so this is a good gift because they are everywhere!
Now to the not-so-obvious and more interesting ones.
Subscription box as a Valentine’s Day Gift
Give a subscription box for Valentine’s Day. Kids love these, my kids love these! And there are so many to choose from to strike your kid’s fancy! Check out Cratejoy, which has just about every type of subscription box you can think of.
Card kit
You can buy little kits to make Valentine’s Day cards, which I think are adorable. This way the kids have a little more interaction with the card they give way instead of just signing their name. This is a Wooden coloring Valentine’s Day Card, here is one that is a little more advanced for kids, and a simpler one.
Craft
Do a craft with your kids this Valentine’s Day as their gift. You can do a fun Valentine’s Day Suncatcher and here’s a list of a bunch of other awesome craft ideas.
Mailboxes for the whole family
Create or buy mailboxes for the whole family, then exchange Valentines. You could also do sweet notes in them. Another idea would be the whole week leading up to Valentine’s Day you put sweet notes in their Valentine’s box for them to read on Valentine’s Day. (This is also a great idea if you’re living through the pandemic.)
Heart crayons (or heart anything)
Valentine’s Day is a great Holiday to get clever with your Valentine’s. How about some heart crayons or heart tattoos or heart sunglasses or heart stickers. There are a ton of heart things out there!
Heart Cake
Make a heart cake with your kiddos with this heart-shaped cake pan. Check out these other heart-shaped treats and snacks for kids.
Tie-dye shirt
Do a fun tie-dye Valentine’s day shirt with reds and pinks.
Book
Give your kids a fun LOVE book. Here are a few of our favorite books:
Heart attack someone
Cut out a bunch of hearts and heart attack someone by sticking the hearts all over their yard or car with a bunch of sweet notes on them. You can download my Heart-Attacked Hearts for FREE to use when heart-attacking someone!
Scavenger hunt
Do a fun Valentine’s Day scavenger hunt that leads them to their goodies!
I hope you have an AWESOME Valentine’s Day with your kiddos this year!
